John Veverka & Associates, in conjunction with Tulane University and the US Army Corps of Engineers Randall L. Gibson conferences on the Mississippi River, is pleased to offer a one day pre-conference interpretive planning seminar, 6 October, 2003. The workshop will cover the latest and newest interpretive planning strategies and focus on how to make your facilities interpretation "successful" and sustainable. Workshop topics will include:

Seminar Schedule:

The seminar will have registration from 8:30 AM to 9:00 the morning of the 6th. The seminar will run from 9:00 to 12:00 and pick up at 1:30pm and run till 4:30pm, with time in between for coffee breaks. Lunch is "on your own".

 

Workshop Location:

The seminar will be held at The Old U.S Mint (A Louisiana State Museum facility), 400 Esplanade Ave (across from the French Market), New Orleans, LA. This is the same location for the Mississippi River Interpretation Conference on the 7th and 8th. You can visit the Louisiana State Museum web site at: http://lsm.crt.state.la.us .

 

Workshop Instructor

John A. Veverka, President of John Veverka & Associates, received both his B.S. and M.S. degrees majoring in interpretation from The Ohio State University, where he also taught a course on Interpretive Master Planning. John also spent five years in the Ph.D. program at Michigan State University, where he also taught the introductory and advanced interpretation courses. He has 29 years of interpretive planning and training experience. John is a Certified Interpretive Planner and Certified Interpretive Trainer, and author of the college textbook Interpretive Master Planning.

Workshop Fee:

The cost for the seminar is $110.00. Workshop participants may also order a copy of the textbook "Interpretive Master Planning" for an additional $25.00. The seminar fee does not cover lunch – which is on your own.

Registration Limit

This seminar is limited to 30 participants. Registration must be received by 22 September 2003. After the 30 participants limit has been met, further registrations will be placed on a waiting list and notified of seat availability by 1 October, 2003.
